Worship leader Warren Peay of Brandenburg, South Carolina stunned the “American Idol” judges in the season’s return on Sunday night. Pop superstar even called him the “Christian Chris Stapleton” after his rendition of Christian rock singer Zach Williams’ “To The Table.”

Aside from being a worship leader, Peay is a repair man. His audition was shared on YouTube for all to watch. Warning: it will likely bring a tear to your eye.

Throughout the video, Peay’s audition was cut with video from his performances inside his church. Aside from his absurd talent, the judges appeared to be deeply moved by Peay.

Peay’s success is another signal of our 3rd Great Awakening.

As Christian artists like Peay see a new-found mainstream success, more are revealing the light they hold inside them. Actor Mark Wahlberg recently told the “Today” show that though faith is “not popular” in Hollywood, he “will not deny” his faith.

Disney star Joshua Bassett yelled his love of our Lord on the stage of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in 2023. Even actor Jim Carrey recently gave a beautiful speech on his own faith.
