‘I Will Not Deny My Faith’: Huge Actor Speaks Out About Religion In Hollywood

Actor Mark Wahlberg went viral on Ash Wednesday after his appearance on the “Today” show, where he claimed that faith is “not popular” in his industry. His industry, obviously, is Hollywood’s Industrial Media Complex.

“[Faith] is everything, it’s afforded me so many things,” Wahlberg told show host Savannah Guthrie. “Obviously, you know, God didn’t come to save the saints. He came to save the sinners. We’ve all had things and issues in our lives, and we want to be better versions of ourselves, and through focusing on my faith, it’s allowed me to do that.”

Wahlberg, like all of us brought here to witness in His truth, wants to “bring people together” during these trying times. He noted how lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic stopped him from practicing his Catholicism at Church, but that these restrictions by our government officials won’t impact his “huge” community.

But balancing his faith with his career in Hollywood? That’s a whole different ball game.

“It’s a balance – I don’t want to jam it down anybody’s throat, but I do not deny my faith. That’s an even bigger sin,” Wahlberg continued. “It’s not popular in my industry, but, you know, I cannot deny my faith. It’s important for me to share that with people. I have friends from all walks of life and all different types of faiths and religions, so you know, it’s important to respect and honor them as well.”

Faith is bringing more people together than ever before.
