32,000 Fewer Abortion Happened After Roe v. Wade Was Overturned, Report States
A report from the Society of Family Planning published Tuesday found that 32,000 fewer abortions took place in the U.S. in the six months following the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
The SFP compared the average monthly number of abortions prior to Dobbs and post, and found a 32,000 difference. SFP is a pro-abortion group. Further analysis from the Daily Caller News Foundation found that this was a 96% decrease in abortions in states with abortion bans. Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin saw an average of 7,235 fewer abortions per month compared to Dobbs Decision. Georgia, Arizona, and Ohio also saw significantly less unborn children massacred in similar timeframes.
“The Pro-life Movement To Celebrate”
“The news that across the country over 5,000 fewer abortions have occurred each month since the Dobbs decision is cause for the pro-life movement to celebrate,” Director of the Center for Human Dignity at the Family Research Council, Mary Szoch told The Washington Stand.
“Fewer babies are being killed and fewer mothers are being exploited by the abortion industry. Each baby who is born because his or her state decided to protect life in the womb is a testament to the fact that abortion does not simply rewind time and cause a child to never come into existence; instead, it kills an unrepeatable human being whose life changes the world. My hope is that in the upcoming years, these children who were saved because of Dobbs inspire a transformation in the heart of every pro-abortion person they encounter,” she continued.
