State Denies Woman’s Adoption Application Based On Her Christian Faith
The state of Oregon reportedly denied a woman’s right to adopt because she is a Christian who does not support child mutilation paraded as so-called “gender affirming care,” The Gateway Pundit said Wednesday.
Instead of caring about the safety and welfare of children, leftist politicians are using their abuse of children as a way to further discriminate against people of faith. Thankfully, Alliance Defending Freedom is suing the state on the woman’s behalf. “On behalf of a single mother of five wishing to adopt siblings from foster care, Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys filed a federal lawsuit Monday against Oregon state officials for denying her application because of her religious beliefs,” the organization wrote in a statement.
Politicians are choosing to hurt children instead of help them
“Oregon’s policy amounts to an ideological litmus test: people who hold secular or ‘progressive’ views on sexual orientation and gender identity are eligible to participate in child welfare programs, while people of faith with religiously informed views are disqualified because they don’t agree with the state’s orthodoxy,” ADF senior counsel Jonathan Scruffs said in the statement. “The government can’t exclude certain communities of faith from foster care and adoption services because the state doesn’t like their particular religious beliefs.”
