Research conducted in 2022 by Lifeway Research would  that a majority of Americans believe in the biblical description of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Respondents to Lifeway Research’s survey asked they state their level of agreement with four separate areas of Christian life:

• The Bible is the highest authority for what I believe
• It is very important for me personally to encourage non-Christians to trust Jesus Christ as their Savior
• Jesus Christ’s death on the cross is the only sacrifice that could remove the penalty of my sin
• Only those who trust in Jesus Christ alone as their savior receive God’s  free gift of eternal salvation

It also asked a series of hyper-specific questions, including: “Bible accounts of the physical (bodily) resurrection of Jesus are completely accurate. This event actually occurred.” Some 47% of respondents strongly agreed with the statement. Only 15% strongly disagreed, and a majority of the rest somewhat agreed. Lifeway Research’s survey was conducted among 3,011 respondents between January 5-January 23, 2022. It had a margin of error of +/- 1.9.
