A report by CBN published Tuesday described the sheer number of awakening events that have taken place at Christian and secular colleges, youth groups, and religious institutions throughout America.

Point Loma Nazarene University

At Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California, students started meeting on Friday  and Sunday evenings for gatherings, which ended up going on for 24 to 26 hours. “It was awesome,” student Cole Stark told CBN.

Stark said that students are healing from diseases at the events. In one example, a student was healed of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. “We saw a healed ankle after a girl struggled to use it properly for the past 15 years,” he continued. “On March 26, hundreds gathered on the beach at sunset cliffs as dozens got baptized,” Stark continued. “As baptisms were happening, an unrelated event released balloons into the sky. After looking at the pictures, we realized that there were 35 balloons, along with a total of 35 baptisms at the cliffs that day.”

Smoky Mountain Awakening

Hundreds of people gathered at Winterfest, an annual youth rally near Gatlinburg, TN in February. Those countless souls came to be baptized. Hardin Valley Church of Christ youth minister David Schilling told one news outlet that the event seemed far too relaxed at first.

It was far “less grandiose,” he noted. It was far from “that larger-than-life wow factor I’ve come to expect,” Schilling felt … at first.

During the Sunday morning worship service, minister Jeff Walling asked those baptized to step forward. Schilling  watched as potentially more than 200 souls joined Walling on stage.

“What was missing actually made more room for the Holy Spirit to permeate the experience,” Schilling. One person who’d attended the event for some 36 years said that they’d never experienced anything like it.
