Top Democrat Refuses To Endorse Kamala Harris For VP
Democratic South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn refused to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for “the future of the Democratic Party,” during an appearance on “Meet The Press” Monday.
Clyburn is considered largely responsible for “foisting” Harris off on Biden, according to American News Wire, but refused to endorse her position in the Administration for the upcoming 2024 elections. NBC host Kristen Welker asked Clyburn outright: “do you see [Harris] as the future of the Democratic Party?”
“I see her as a part of that future, absolutely,” Clyburn replied. When pushed on whether she’s “the future,” Clyburn said she’s running a good campaign and gives good speeches, but whether she’s the real successor to our current president, he’s not so sure.
“It’s not a given, you don’t automatically move up. She’ll have to compete going forward with whoever may have dreams and aspirations, and I think she will acquit herself well,” Clyburn continued.

“I think when you compare the first woman of color and first woman to be vice president of the United States and compare that to all of the history before, you will get that,” Clyburn said when asked why Harris isn’t resonating with voters. ” think that during this campaign, she will demonstrate — as she did in that hall last night — that she knows exactly what she’s doing. She has the capacity and the capability to be president of the United States if called upon to do so.”
