More Than 3,500 Children Received Gender Mutilation Surgery In 3-Year Span
New data from the Journal of the American Medical Association revealed that 3,678 children aged 12 to 18 underwent gender mutilation surgeries between 2016 to 2019.
So-called “gender transition surgeries” increased significantly in the last decade, with most patients receiving breast and chest procedures. But a total of 405 patients aged 12 to 18 received genital surgery, which is irreversible and generally doesn’t work as intended. “[T]his [study] comes in the face of individuals who are advocating for children to be transitioned in their appearance from their basic biological sex to the opposite sex,” former president of the American College of Pediatricians Dr. Quentin Van Meter, a pediatric endocrinologist, told Washington Watch. “[Yet] they categorically state over and over again before state legislative hearings under oath that no children are getting surgeries, that it’s only done after the age of consent. And of course, we all know [that] is not true because adolescent females are getting their breasts removed well before the age of 18 in these medical centers, all pretty much done under wraps and not recognized in the news, particularly because it’s quite a shocking statistic.” (LEARN MORE: Republican Gov.
