Evolutionary biologist and author Bret Weinstein made shocking claims to podcaster Joe Rogan about former White House medical advisor Anthony Fauci. His comments come as the U.S. Department of Energy concluded that COVID-19 likely escaped from a laboratory.

The report from the U.S. Department of Energy comes almost three years after the start of the pandemic. The discovery came as a result of new intelligence, and has been supported by the FBI, apparently, suddenly… the Wall Street Journal reported. In order to cover the backs of the real people behind the investigation into the origins of COVID-19, the WSJ noted that the Department of Energy made the judgement with “low confidence,” whatever that means.

No further details were given on what “new evidence” was suddenly uncovered. “Why are they continually trying reanimate the explanation that this a natural spill-over event?” Weinstein asked, somewhat rhetorically, while being interviewed by Rogan in a recent episode of his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Weinstein is referring to gain-of-function research, which has been tied to the origins of COVID-19.

The answer? “Because if it isn’t, then we know who did it, right?” Weinstein continued. “Anthony Fauci was key to circumventing the ban on gain-of-function research that resulted in the Wuhan Lab being funded by us to do this work.”

Weinstein argued that if COVID-19 did emerge naturally through a wet market in Wuhan, then Fauci has nothing to worry about. Alternatively, if COVID-19 is a man-made virus from the lab that Fauci helped fund, “that’s a whole different ball game.”
