Republican New Jersey councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour, was discovered dead in her car on Feb. 1st, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Dwumford was inside of her vehicle, located close to her home in Sayreville, New Jersey, when she was shot by a currently unknown assailant for unknown reasons, according to CNN. The vehicle continued traveling down the road after she was shot, and crashed into parked cars.

A week after her murder, Dwumford’s father said that the family still hasn’t learned anything from law enforcement about the case, the New York Post reported. Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office have yet to make any public statements regarding her murder, and have not responded to multiple inquiries from the Post.

Those inquiries include whether the suspect is still at large, and if they pose a threat to the public, the Post continued. Investigators have noted to the Post that a video camera may have caught the councilwoman speaker to her alleged shooter just prior to her death.

Dwumford’s husband, Eze Kings, shared his love for his late wife on social media, writing, “I know you breath through me I will continue to celebrate you as I have promised you I missed you my love.” The FBI is further assisting in the investigation, but no details have been made public yet as to why.
