Trump Cancels On Iowa Over Extreme Weather Risk

Former President Donald Trump canceled a rally in Des Moines, Iowa, Saturday, over a significant tornado warning in the area, according to Breitbart.

Trump stated that he was “forced to cancel” the event after a tornado warning was issued for the area. “Tornado Watch in Iowa. For safety of our great Patriots, we have been asked to delay or cancel today’s sold out Rally,” he told his followers on Truth Social. “I am near the Palm Beach Airport, ready to go, but we are on hold because of the very bad weather in Iowa. Please Seek Shelter or Safe Haven!”

The National Weather Service filed a tornado watch from north of Sioux City through to the eastern Iowa City.

It is believed that the rally was set to fight off advances from Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who was also heading to Iowa over the weekend. DeSantis was due to attend a summer fundraiser hosted by Republican Iowa Rep. Randy Fenestra, as well as a Republican Party fundraiser in Cedar Rapids.
