Federal prosecutor and Republican candidate for Missouri Attorney General Will Scharf shared a deeply insightful commentary on The Durham Report, Monday, after it concluded that there never was any Russian collusion during the 2016 presidential race.

The 300-page report concluded that the FBI never should have launched an investigation into former President Donald Trump’s campaign. It also found significant biases within the federal agency that favored twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, despite staggering concerns of corruption within her own campaign. “The Durham Report confirms what many of us have long suspected: Crossfire Hurricane and the “foreign collusion” investigation into the Trump campaign in 2016 was an insane abuse of power and one of the greatest political scandals in American history, the ramifications of which will unfortunately be with for many years to come,” Scharf noted in a lengthy Twitter post. “The political weaponization of our intelligence services and law enforcement is terrifying, and should be of paramount concern to all Americans, regardless of political persuasion,” he continued. “There was no proper predication for the commencement of the investigation, significant exculpatory edurhamdurvidence was covered up and ignored, and the investigation utilized notably unreliable sources and information to perpetuate itself, likely for political reasons.”

“The American people were cynically sold a lie for years.”

Scharf conceded that if he had engaged in the behavior described in the report, but in the context of a street gang or drug dealers, he would ” likely have lost my job, my law license, and possibly faced criminal charges.”
