An article published by the Washington Stand argued that Planned Parenthood, Children’s Law Center, and the ACLU want to protect the abusive act of child marriage because members are worried any laws against the action will spill over into abortion.

The WS cited a Newsweek article, which detailed how California lawmakers are fighting to protect underage girls (and some boys) from the horrific act of child marriage. It was assumed that the state would be one of the first to ban the act, which was legal in all 50 states as of 2017.

But opposition from Planned Parenthood, Children’s Law Center, and the ACLU has put the protections for minors on hold.

California’s Law Goes Against The United Nations

“More than 300,000 children under age 18 were legally married in the U.S. between 2000-2018. Delaware and New Jersey were the first to take on the crisis — a crisis most Americans had no idea existed,” The WS stated. But almost all Democrat-run states are fighting to keep the predatory practice alive.

“Jonathan Keller, president of California Family Council, wishes it was a joke. It isn’t. On “Washington Watch” Friday, he called it absolutely “tragic” to see how extreme the Left has become. The idea that groups like Planned Parenthood would lobby to keep girls locked in legal relationships with (in many cases) sadistic abusers, should be a bridge too far for even them. But then, that’s the business model: early sex, more abortions. Whether or not it’s consensual matters little to the industry’s profit sharks,” the WS continued.
