Federal Judge Orders Southwest Airlines Attorneys Undergo ‘Religious Liberty Training’
A federal judge in Texas ordered three Southwest Airlines attorneys to undergo “religious liberty training” after losing a lawsuit against a former employee, The Washington Stand reported Thursday.
The airline lost a suit brought by a former employee who was fired in 2017 for expressing her pro-life religious views. The Trump-appointed judge Brantley Starr, ordered to lawyers to undergo the training with the Alliance Defending Freedom nonprofit.
The attorneys plan to appeal to order. They also plan to appeal the decision from the judge, in hopes the airline can restrict its employees use of social media.

Southwest was ordered to reinstate flight attendant Charlene Carter, as well as paying her damages after she was fired for voicing pro-life, pro-Christian values. “This long overdue verdict vindicates Ms. Carter’s fundamental right to dissent from the causes and ideas that TWU union officials — who claim to ‘represent’ Southwest flight attendants — support while forcing workers to bankroll their activities,” National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation president Mark Mix said in a statement.
