Anna Hall, 22, won the USA Track and Field championship title in the heptathlon, and went on to win silver by an incredibly slim margin at the World Championships, according to CBN.

“I went for it,” Hall said after the second race. “Very bittersweet. I really wanted gold, and I just fought my heart out and it just wasn’t there this year for me.” But the one thing Hall has carried with her throughout her incredible career is Christ.

According to her social media, Hall believes that everything is down to #HisTiming, and referenced Roman 8:18 while recounting her World Championship win. “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (KJ21).

Injury To Glory

Things started to change for Hall after she recently broke her foot. The injury shifted her perspective, and forced her to think outside of the box she’d found comfortable for so long.

“The injury was a really big inflection point in my career,” she told Olympics.com. “I honestly don’t think I would have done what I did last year had I not gotten injured. As much as it hurt and I was so upset and I cried for months and I felt so bad for myself, I really think, honestly, that was God’s way of showing me, ‘OK, you need to change the way you’re looking at track.'”
