Christian Group Behind Viral Super Bowl Ad Reportedly Financing National Abortion Medication Ban
The group behind the He Gets Us commercial that aired at Sunday’s Super Bowl in Arizona is also reportedly helping to finance a lawsuit that seeks to place a national ban on abortion medication.
The internet seemingly went wild on Sunday after a controversial commercial from the He Gets Us movement aired at the Super Bowl. The commercial shows clips and images of recent social and civil unrest throughout the U.S., and concludes with a message many are disagreeing over.
The movement said to be behind the $20 million commercial is a subsidiary of the Servant Foundation, a Kansas-based charity, according to Lever News. Writer Judd Legum wrote on Twitter that the Servant Foundation, also known as The Signatry, donated some $16.1 million to Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF). “[ADF] is providing legal representation to the plaintiffs in the lawsuit,” he noted. The suit seeks to ban mifepristone, a drug used to kill unborn children in the womb of their mothers, according to an article from Legum.
