Raised impoverished in the foster care system until age 10, Jackson understands both the challenges and the opportunities America presents. Bishop Jackson has a unique perspective about political involvement: “Ultimately it’s not politics from a Christian point of view, it is ultimately prophetic ministry. Was Moses engaged in politics when he went to Pharaoh and told him, ‘God said, ‘Let My people go!’ Was Elijah engaged in politics when he told Ahab and Jezebel, ‘you are troubling the land by spreading idolatry throughout the land and blaspheming God’” This is part of who we are called to be as those who love and worship God. We have a responsibility to pray for righteous leadership, to counsel righteous leadership, and to praise God because, in this country, we actually get to vote and have a say in our leadership.  Your prayers matter.
