A King Will Reign in Righteousness
Isaiah 32:1-2
Behold, a king will reign in righteousness,
and princes will rule in justice.
Each will be like a hiding place from the wind,
a shelter from the storm,
like streams of water in a dry place,
like the shade of a great rock in a weary land.
Rivers of Living Water
John 7:37-39
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” Now, this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Pray The Now Word
Scripture is a guide for personal internal renewal. Personal internal renewal shapes national governmental structures. The nation will never be as pure as the hearts of God’s children. It’s not supposed to be.
God is reviving people and reforming governments and systems. Revival comes from the bottom up. Reformation comes from the top down.
When the revival of the human heart meets the reformation of earthly structures, transformation erupts in the nation. Holiness and tangible daily connection to God begin the road to deliverance.
But holiness is not something we work for, it’s something we respond to. God IS Holy. And so we respond by taking off our shoes because the land on which we stand, IS holy.
