Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Saturday that, if public reporting is accurate, Dominion Voting Systems needs to answer questions about what role the organization played in the recent silencing of former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

“If the public reporting is accurate that Dominion Voting Systems demanded that Tucker Carlson be fired as part of a litigation settlement, then I am happy that Dominion does not operate in Texas, and I don’t think that they should do so in the future,” Abbott wrote on Twitter, Saturday, garnering 3.6 million views by Monday morning. “We may disagree with other’s positions, but we should never try to improperly silence views contrary to our own. If Dominion wants to do business with Texas in the future, they should first answer questions about what role, if any, they played in silencing a prominent conservative journalist. Carlson and Fox News recently “agreed to part ways” in a sudden Monday morning move that has left Fox flailing for viewers. Carlson hosted the most successful show of any cable news channel at the time of his departure. He’s gone on to release a video on Twitter where he cryptically claims that mainstream corporate news media doesn’t actually report the news.

It’s unclear what role the Dominion Voting System lawsuit against Fox played in the release of Carlson from the network. Perhaps those who run the company will answer questions in the future, per Abbott’s demands.
