Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan wrote an incredibly stern letter to George Soros-funded Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Monday, demanding answers on the alleged imminent arrest of former President Donald Trump.

“You are reportedly about to engage in an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority: the indictment of a former President of the United States and current declared candidate for that office,” wrote in a letter that was shared on Twitter.

“This indictment comes after years of your office searching for a basis — any basis — on which to bring charges, ultimately settling on a novel legal theory untested anywhere in the country and one that federal authorities declined to pursue.”

The letter comes just days after Trump stated that he would be arrested on Tuesday in relation to an alleged hush-money scheme. (LEARN MORE: DeSantis Speaks Out On Potential Trump Arrest)

Jordan expressed how Bragg’s actions would “erode confidence in the evenhanded application of justice,” and may have long-term impacts on the outcome of the 2024 presidential election. “In light of the serious consequences of your actions, we expect that you will testify about what plainly appears to be a politically motivated prosecutorial decision,” Jordan continued.

On a legal basis, Jordan showed how even if Trump had paid the $130,000 to former adult film star Stormy Daniels, he would have only committed a misdemeanor with a two-year statute of limitations. If this is the case, Trump wouldn’t be able to get in trouble for the alleged scheme past 2008, the two-year window from 2006 when the incident is said to have happened.
