‘Our Money Our Values’ Educates Americans On The Dangers Of ESG Policies
Republican State Treasurers from across the U.S. launched “Our Money, Our Values” in November, as part of their strategy to help educate Americans on the dangers of Environmental, Social, and Governance policies.
ESG policies are a predominantly leftist-pushed investment strategies that urge organizations to take money away from tax-paying citizens and put it into “subjective, misguided strategies to combat climate change and reduce carbon emissions,” OMOV writes on its ESG 101 educational page.
The site was launched as a means of explaining to Americans that ESG policies practiced by investment firms — like BlackRock — place greater emphasis on fighting climate change than ensuring financial returns on the investments made with other people’s money.
““We’re committed to our fiduciary responsibilities to our constituents. We’re not seeking a political agenda. We’re not seeking to politicize or weaponize the assets that we have under management,” Nebraska State Treasurer John Murante said upon the launch of the initiative. “We are seeking to get the best financial returns that we possibly can for our constituents.”

A recent poll conducted by CRC Research found that once they understand what ESG is, a majority of Americans do not want any of their investments going towards it. More than that, some 71% of respondents agreed with states that fired retirement fund companies that focused on politics over profits.
