Lionsgate Sets Up Another Faith-Inspired Movie After The Success Of ‘Jesus Revolution’

Lionsgate announced that its next drama, “Ordinary Angels” will be released in Fall 2023, Collider reported in mid-March.

Starring Hillary Swan and Alan Ritchson, the story is based on real events. It was described by the outlet as “inspiring tale of faith, everyday miracles, and ordinary angels.”

The plot follows a struggling but powerful hairdresser from small town Kentucky, Sharon Steves. Steves finds an new sense of purpose when she meets widower Ed Schmitt and his two young daughters, the youngest of whom needs a liver transplant.

Along with A-lister Swank and up-and-coming hero Ritchson, “Ordinary Angels” cast Nancy Travis (“Last Man Standing”), Tamala Jones (“Castle”), Amy Acker (“The Watchful Eye”), along with Drew Powell (“Gotham”), and young actor Emily Mitchell (“Women Talking”). Jon Gunn is directing. The screenplay was written by Meg Tilly and Kelly Fremon Craig.

Jon and Andrew Erwin, the brotherly duo behind “Jesus Revolution” are producing.
