DeSantis Makes Significant Statements On Whether He’ll Run For President In 2024
Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appeared to tell British interviewer Piers Morgan that he is considering running for President in 2024 despite not having officially launched his campaign. The hints came as part of a one-hour conversation shared by Morgan, Breitbart reported.
Since their clear falling out, DeSantis has refused to address any issues he has with former President Donald Trump, Breitbart noted. That changed Monday, when DeSantis called out Soros-funded Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg for threatening to arrest Trump.
When asked about his comments, DeSantis said that the situation was “outside my wheelhouse.” He furthered that, “You really want to look to people like our Founding Fathers, like what type of character — it’s not saying that you don’t ever make a mistake in your personal life, but I think what type of character are you bringing?”

Morgan then pushed the Florida Governor on the differences between his own and Trump’s leadership styles. “I would have fired somebody like Fauci. I think he got way too big for his britches, and I think he did a lot of damage,” DeSantis commented.
Much of his commentary came from the perspective that Trump’s attacks on him are “background noise.” Engaging with Trump would “not accomplishing anything for the people I represent.”
He continued, “I’m a vessel for the aspirations of the people I represent. It’s not about me, as Ronald Reagan said, ‘There’s no limit to what you can accomplish if you don’t care who gets the credit.'” (LEARN MORE: DeSantis Speaks Out On Potential Trump Arrest)
When definitively pushed on whether DeSantis is officially fighting against Trump for the nomination, he said, “I’m not up against anybody quite yet.” The full interview will be released Thursday on Fox Nation.
