Heartbeat Bill
Those are the words of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. Wednesday, the Governor signed into law the “heartbeat ban” abortion bill. The legislation bars most abortions at the onset of a fetal heartbeat, which can occur as early as six weeks into pregnancy and before many people know they are pregnant.
Specifically, the new law prohibits a physician from knowingly performing or inducing an abortion on a pregnant woman whose unborn baby has a detectable heartbeat, requiring the physician to make that determination prior to terminating the life of an unborn baby. The law establishes an exception when a physician believes a medical emergency exists that prevents compliance with these provisions.
SCOTUS Denies ACLU & Planned Parenthood’s Request for Emergency Relief
The measure became official late Tuesday night after the Supreme Court declined to grant an emergency request filed by Planned Parenthood and the ACLU in an attempt to block the bill from becoming law. This allowed Governor Abbott and the Republican-led legislature to pass and enact the strongest protections for the unborn since Roe V. Wade legalized the horrific practice in 1973.

Possibly 50,000 Lives Saved
According to the most recent data, there were over 55,000 abortions carried out in Texas alone – If this new law stops 90%, that amounts to almost 50,000 innocent children being saved.
Pursue, Overtake & Recover All
This legislation is cause for us, as believers and a nation, to rejoice. The issue of abortion was placed before an accountable body of legislators in Texas, and they chose life. However, this is no time to rest–we must continue to fight for the unborn across our nation.
When we look at the life of David in the book of 1 Samuel, we see that David did not stop his pursuit upon the overtaking of the people of Ziklag. He went beyond conquering to recover all from the enemy’s camp, which had plundered the Israelites wives, children, and livestock. In the same manner, we have the opportunity as engaged citizens of Heaven and Earth to continue the pursuit of the protection of human life. We must continue the battle to overtake the deceptive idealogy that terminates the lives of unborn children and recover all as we press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 3:14
